Issue with S3 VT8375 Prosavage on board vga

Postby noniespcos22 on Fri Dec 26, 2008 5:41 am

Hello,

I have installed PC/Os on my 2 X home computers except for one. It has a built-in S3 VT8375 Prosavage 8 VGA card which after installing PC/Os it displays run in low-graphics mode. But when I continue, my display just goes blank. I think it doesn't recognize the on-board VGA card properly. How can I override it to configure the display properly or is there an update to detect this type of vga card? Is there anyway to get it into configuration mode in case this type of problem occurs on other computers that doesnt recognizes their vga display cards?

I am in an effort of promoting Linux to my friends and colleagues, and having this kind of problem is kinda' frustrating. My work basically involves repairing and troubleshooting computers and this distro is a very good replacement for Windows, because of its speed since it uses XFCE platform and its applications.
Please help.

Thanks and regards,
Nonie
