Considering the level of support for this distro is nill I have deciced to knock using on the head. Although I like your distro there is no point in using it because if you get a problem with it, you do not get any support in trying to fix it. Trying to use a Linux distro with no support is like pissing in the wind, you just don't do it. Not trying to knock for your effort but might as well go elseware and at least get the support when I need it.

I'm afraid I have to agree. I saw a post where the dev. was lamenting the fact that he was getting next to nothing in the way of donations, and now I see why. In order to get decent donation, it seems to me it would require at least the smallest effort to give some support to your distro. I realize it is free, but most of them are. I hate it when I find a good distribution that looks like it is the death throws. Oh well. Looks like the hunt for a distro I can stay with goes on. Too bad, really nice little distro, with only the need for some attention.

As this distribution is based on Ubuntu or Xubuntu, I suggest that if the response you get when posting to this forum is not fast enough and your request is a general request, what you might do is post your request in the Ubuntu forum instead.

This won't work for very specific stuff, but for general Linux info that is likely to be compatible with this distribution that would seem to be the answer. The suggestion on the PC/OS main blog page is that if this distribution folds, support would still be available from Ubuntu and Canonical so the answer has been suggested - that is if we are "Not Still Alive" okay!

Not me. I'm already dead.

Kidding.

I am alive. Seriously.

P.S. I sure hope this distro survives. I have a stack of probably 20 Live CDs that I tried out before settling on this one.

Well, I have a generic install of PC/OS 2009 (2a, I think) and the only things that I've installed are Inkscape, SeaMonkey, Scribus and Kompozer, I think. Well, I was able to play a video on the site as listed above.

I'm using the Opera browser from the default install, the video opens in "Xine" plugin, sound works and everything.

Havin the plugins and codecs etc. is one reason that I chose this distro. Maybe he had an older PC/OS version?

Color me confused. (So "what's new?" you say!)

If I may be so bold........the fact that you do not wish for this distro to go away, just might be justification to support it with a donation. At least if it is worth rising to the top of the heap of the distro's that you downloaded it would seem that way.

Just a thought.
