Hi! i'm new to linux very new fresh off the boat. Anyway"s im wanting to run cod4 and steam as well im wanting to know how to install game's useing wine i have looked all over and some people's tut's on how to install game's on wine are not very good most of them are half ass complete i tryed installing cod4 in wine but all i got was 2 error's one was syaing somthing about windows firewall and that there was already one installed and the other one was a /iwd error no idea it would always just freeze up on the finalizing of finishing the install of cod4 and i have also checked the winehq and it said cod4 will work.So what im also asking is if someone know's of a really good tut on how to install game's using wine and what also do i need to update on this OS so i dont get error's. I really like this OS a lot but since im a noob at it im just lookin for some help. Thanks for your time

Wine itself is not that great fro running games. Codeweavers has a paid product that runs Windows games.

You can give that a try.
